Wednesday Night Bible Studies

Large Group Study

Our large group study is typically led by our pastor, Matt Price, and meets on Wednesday nights from 6:00 - 7:00 PM in the auditorium.  It's open to anyone that would like to come and doesn't require advanced preparation.

Often, when we read the Bible, we tend to concentrate on the individual stories without considering how each story fits into and contributes to the greater story that God is unfolding.  This is particularly true of the stories of the Old Testament, which weave together the great story of God's redemptive plan for His people, Israel.  In our Wednesday night study, we'll discover how these stories fit into that greater story (and how it contrasts with the story being sold by our Enemy through our culture). We're currently going through a video based study by Bible Scholar Ray VanderLaan.  We begin each session with a video lesson, filmed "on site" from the place the story actually happened.  The sights and the highlighting of archaeological, cultural, and historical facts bring new insights to familiar stories.   Below is a video clip which will give you a taste of what the videos are like.

After the video, we look at the Scripture and talk about its relevance and application for our lives. The study begins at 6:00 PM (after dinner), and wraps up by 7:00 so that those involved in the choir can make it to practice.  And remember, there are groups for kids of all ages meeting concurrently from 6:00 - 8:00.

Bible 101

Bible 101 is a smaller, co-ed study led by Jill Feck and Bill Pruitt from 6:15 - 8:00.  This study is designed for those who are new to Bible study, and who would like to grow in their understanding of biblical backgrounds and the basics of Christianity.  They start in Genesis with key passages and themes, and work their way to every day application of the truths and principles that we find in God's word.  For more information on the class, you can call the church office at 283-8306.
